
Our mission
We believe food is one of the most powerful levers for change. Our mission is to raise awareness about the power of food — for our health and for the planet. Because every bite we take shapes more than just our bodies. It shapes our future.

After watching the documentary Forks Over Knives, we were eager to change how we ate.But we quickly hit a wall — no one could tell us where to start or how to reduce our impact in a simple, practical way.

So, we decided to make it easier for others — and saw that by focusing our efforts on supporting restaurants and kitchens, we could achieve the greatest impact.
We collaborate closely with researchers from the VUB research group HOST (House of Sustainable Transitions) to strengthen our data and the way we visualise it.
Together, we explore how environmental impact labels can support better food choices across public institutions, from hospitals and schools to large restaurant groups.
Ecotarian is also member of the Greendeal "Eiwitshift op ons bord" and Next Food Chain initiatives.
